"No matter what you've done
for yourself or for humanity,
if you can't look back on having given love
and attention to your own family,
what have you really accomplished?"
Elbert Hubbard

This past weekend we celebrated my parents
50th Wedding Anniversary
by getting the family together for a reunion.
It has been five long years since we were all together
All of my siblings were able to come
with the exception of one brother.
Can you believe it all started with just 2?
I was put in charge of the reunion this year.
Each one of my children were lifesavers and
they all pitched in and helped.
I had a great time with my family, especially with my sister Natasha and her husband and children. (I haven't seen them since the last reunion.) Prior to the reunion, my mother chronologically took photographs of her and dad's life and videoed them as she spoke about each one in detail. It was incredible, a veritable treasure for our family. I can't wait until she copies it for each of her children.
The happiest moments that I have experienced in my life have all been associated with family. How grateful I am to have the knowledge that families can be forever.
"You don't choose your family.
They are God's gift to you, as you are to them."
Desmond Tutu
I loved that last quote you used! The reuion was great, and I am so glad we had those pictures taken. I felt blessed to have my girls get to meet and spend time with their great-grandparents. You did a great job on the reunion, and everyone that helped made it that much better. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThe highlight of the reunion for us was getting to hang out with you and your lovely family. Thanks for everything you did, especially for making time for us and for feeding us all that yummy food! I am still recovering from the trip, I will blog about it soon. I got some cute pictures that I will send you.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for all the work that you and your family did to make the reunion happen and be such a success.
